Text of Speech of Candidate Victor Webb

Good evening - members and friends. The purpose of my talk is to raise myself to the highest rank on the basis of my relevant experience and on merit. You will have no regrets - I will support branches closely.

In case you think I am shy and retiring I can tell you that I am determined and tenacious. I have legal training in London where I work and have analysed vast amounts of documents and prepared major cases for trial. I graduated as a Law Costs Draftsman and in that capacity I can confidently say that I have seen more cases start to finish than any Solicitor in the country.

I am suited to argument and analysis required by the job as an MEP. As a practising member of the Academy of Experts I have very broad experience of our legal system. I am the only candidate who has spoken in the Chamber of the European Parliament and who is not currently an MEP. I have adversarial experience and can hold my own in the European Chamber as I do regularly in court chambers.

You may think that long experience campaigning for UKIP is essential to be elected and if so I can tell you that during the past 8 years my work has been UKIP, my hobby has been UKIP. I dream of UKIP's success. It is vital to our country's freedom.

I am a dedicated campaigner. My campaign locally has been at Kent shows, boot sales, point to point and in the street on a regular basis in many towns. Two weeks ago I was in a debate at Ashford Girls' Grammar School opposed by Ben Patterson ex Tory MEP when I stood in for Nigel Farrage.

Twice I have represented UKIP in Parliamentary Elections and 8 times I have stood in Local Elections. I have run many candidates this year 9, last year 12. I am PPC for Tunbridge Wells although it omits to say so on the Hustings leaflet.

I have given my support to others in London, Reading Ipswich, Hartlepool and Bromley. I have attended all national conferences.

Internationally I spoke to the public on a microphone in Valetta. In Malta I was on TV 3 times and on one of the TV programmes I appeared dressed up as the Emperor of the European Union the new super state with crown orb and sceptre. Others joined in song and dance about greed and power. Three of our troupe were dressed as commissioners in robes of the EU Emblem. I pointed to them with my sceptre and said "They are brilliant, they do my bidding and your thinking."

Serious points were made in the period leading up to the referendum there. One third of the population watched that programme.

I am confident that our efforts will be remembered by the Maltese just as the British will remember Gordon Brown's betrayal of Britain with a "Grubby surrender to Brussels" and his failure to provide sufficient appropriate and fully funded armed forces which the UK needs.

If you need somebody who is committed, reliable, trustworthy with plenty of relevant experience - on merit, I am worthy of the A Team.

I am proud to be British and within the next 5 years if I have the honour to be elected I will make my mark in co-operation with our best.

I am a good communicator.
